In the early 1970’s, a group of freethinking people created the “Atlantis Foundation”. The group was nick named “The Screamers” by the local people. The group believed in primal scream therapy- a way of removing all of your angst and reverting to your most primal self. Throughout the 1970’s they lived in the fishing village of Burtonport in Co. Donegal. The Screamers founder was an English woman and well known activist named Jenny James. The house that they lived in was called the Atlantis house. It was a large hand painted house decorated blue with symbols and art created by the Screamers. The group then permanently moved to the island Innisfree of the coast of Donegal until 1988 and from there they permanently moved to Colombia.
